Sound Story

Image
This is our Foley audio clip along with the video of where the sounds came from. The process started off with how we could make a story using the environment around us, which at the time was school. Thus, our story would be a student packing up and walking to a classroom. We created this mostly with noises that come from common objects, like zippers, papers, and pencils to symbolize a school/work environment. We made sure to record very closely with our microphone to capture the best quality of sound in a secluded area to isolate the noise, and to make all the sounds loud so we could lower their volume in post.      The first attempt at editing was difficult because we had to find a decent video and audio software to splice the audio and visuals together, we. My partner did all of the editing so kudos to him!       Working in a group was really useful, as it was hard enough to do the action with one hand and record ...

Mood Board for a horror film

Image
This would be my mood board for a horror film! The whole purpose of the top row of pictures is to create an eerie sense of loneliness or abandonment. This evokes a sense of foreboding with the very dark and expansive hallways. The bottom row of pictures is to give off tones of sinister intent, death, and mystery. These themes are tied with the pictures of the dark empty rooms because it reminds viewers that although the area might seem abandoned, they are not alone. The color tones are often times monochrome, with accents of red, as to imply the color of blood. The colors and props of the environment are often times very bleak and derelict to enhance the "abandonment" tone.
