Final Project Mood Board

Image
For this blogpost, I will be showing image that make a mood board for my final project that gives viewers a good idea of what the film would feel like. Here are some examples:      The first part about the mood board are the characters. The image shows two characters, one character obviously being followed by a suspicious character. The premise is to follow the protagonist, being the obvious character, as they are gradually pursued by this unrevealed character in a sinister manner.       The mood board shows off multiple locations & settings, like roads, cars, and houses. Based on these images, it takes place in modern urban society. Each photo being in a separate location shows how the characters will be traveling between each setting. The idea being that the film starts on the road, and eventually ends up in someone's house.        There's simple costumes that help convey the mood of the film. For example, the protagonist is w...

Movie Opening Project

Image
In this blog, I will analyze multiple movie opening scenes, then find out what kind of movie opening I want to do with my group members. Opening 1: Rise     This opening utilized many quick jump cuts of action to show high energy. Many angles of shots, often from high or low, are used to show the adept skill of the soccer player by following either his movements or the ball. The audio work is impressive and well incorporated into the film, as the music would fade in or out depending on if the soccer player had his headphones on or off. This makes the film immersive, giving viewers the perspective of the character portrayed in the film. The montage editing that was used really helped spark the action to an ordinary soccer practice routine. Opening 2: Dear Lover     This opening had a pleasant intro by using light music and bright lighting to set the tone of the scene. The scenic shots in the mise-en-scene was well organized to give viewers a good idea of the surroundi...

Final project group members

Image
For our final project, we have the liberty of working in a group. I decided to work with two other members: Daniel Yanes and Sofia Kawalek. Daniel is a good friend of mine that I've known since my freshman year. He's friendliness helps him get along with anyone and has great work ethic and can really be relied on to get things done. Daniel also has access to editing software and has experience splicing audio and editing videos. I look forward to working with Daniel because he has a good imagination and is great at turning ideas into executions. Sofia is also a good friend of mine that I've known since freshman year. She's very enthusiastic and motivating, which will help us stay on track and get work done. She's also a good friend of Daniel, so that makes communication easy since we're all friends. I look forward to working with Sofia because she will make sure our film has quality to it.

Final Project Movie Genre

Image
For our final project, we must create an opening scene/ title sequence of a film that will be two minutes long. We've decided on an opening scene for a horror film. We chose horror because for film rookies like ourselves, the horror genre seems easier to accomplish compared to sci-fi or action genres in terms of budget and time to film. We also believe that creating the feel of suspense sounds relatively easy by  using jump-scares, eerie soundtracks, and unsettling imagery. I pretty excited to work on this project because I think it would be a fun experience, especially when working with friends. Some things I would be concerned about is probably the props and timing, since we have to find a time we're all available in order to film the project and bring everything we need to make it happen. Outside of that concern, I think the project will be fun to put together as long as everyone does their part correctly.
