Group Dynamic

    In this blogpost, I will be highlighting the efforts and roles of my group members and myself towards the contribution of the project.


    We all played a very important roll while developing this film project. To make things simple, I will generalize the roles of each of us. Daniel Yanes played a very executive directing role, giving us an idea of what needs to be done and verifies it happens, then approves of final products. Sofia Kawalek was like our equipment personnel, she did the majority of the filming, photo-documented our progress, and did the final editing on video editing software. My role was a lot more artistic direction and creative concept work, I drew the entire storyboard and made sure the shots of the film were almost exactly how it was imaged in the storyboard. I also helped with audio design and made music for the film so we wouldn't run into any copyright issues. 



    Daniel and I were also the actors in the film, while Sofia was doing the camera work for a good portion. The only time we switched roles was during situational affairs, like how the only person allowed to drive Sofia's car is Sofia herself. This group dynamic we had worked out really well, and I don't think it needed to change at all since we all played a major role and did very well with communications between each other. We never had even argued who would do what, and we all naturally filled in the roles that were needed and I think that was fantastic teamwork, as we managed to complete our project with relative ease.

Fight scenes Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is a very impressive movie, but one of it's most entertaining aspects are its action scenes! The f ight scenes involved many kind of shots, depending on the context , and the story telling from the action. Sound Story

       This is our Foley audio clip along with the video of where the sounds came from. The process started off with how we could make a story using the environment around us, which at the time was school. Thus, our story would be a student packing up and walking to a classroom. We created this mostly with noises that come from common objects, like zippers, papers, and pencils to symbolize a school/work environment. We made sure to record very closely with our microphone to capture the best quality of sound in a secluded area to isolate the noise, and to make all the sounds loud so we could lower their volume in post.      The first attempt at editing was difficult because we had to find a decent video and audio software to splice the audio and visuals together, we. Five Shot Video Post

This first shot is an extreme closeup of my partner. I held the camera very close to his face to focus on his eyes throughout the scene. The purpose of this shot is to emphasize the facial features and emotions the person in the video as he acts through the scene (i.e. gradually opening eyes and changing posture) This shot is a low angle shot of a person walking down the stairs. It was slightly difficult trying to capture the angle but it was manageable after a couple times. The purpose behind this shot is to distort size, making the viewer seem smaller than the subject swiftly moving down the stairs, and the subject appears to be moving quicker than they actually are due to the low angle. This is a medium-full shot of a person sitting on a bench. This was relatively easy, as the only obstruction was the glare from the sky.
