Second Day of Filming

     In this blogpost, I will discuss our second day of filming, which actually went pretty smoothly.


    This are our costumes for the filming. It's the same as our last shoot and this time I actually got to perform and act on video. As you can see, Daniel Yanes is still the protagonist coming back from work, and I am now playing as the stalker, following Daniel to his house. Filming this time wasn't that difficult, but we spent a lot of time brainstorming how we wanted to film our scene, since this location provided us with a lot of opportunities. 


    This is the location of filming. This location is the garage of my house, and it served pretty well for the scene we were trying to film. The only issue we came across was the fact that there were other people home, meaning there were other cars parked outside the house that would break the immersion of the film. There's really only supposed to be two characters in the video, so it wouldn't make sense to see more than two cars. Besides that, filming went really smoothly. Even the living room was practically set up for the scene and filming the last scene was a piece of cake!


    Quite literally because we also purchased a cake as one of our props in the film.

Sound Story

       This is our Foley audio clip along with the video of where the sounds came from. The process started off with how we could make a story using the environment around us, which at the time was school. Thus, our story would be a student packing up and walking to a classroom. We created this mostly with noises that come from common objects, like zippers, papers, and pencils to symbolize a school/work environment. We made sure to record very closely with our microphone to capture the best quality of sound in a secluded area to isolate the noise, and to make all the sounds loud so we could lower their volume in post.      The first attempt at editing was difficult because we had to find a decent video and audio software to splice the audio and visuals together, we. Five Shot Video Post

This first shot is an extreme closeup of my partner. I held the camera very close to his face to focus on his eyes throughout the scene. The purpose of this shot is to emphasize the facial features and emotions the person in the video as he acts through the scene (i.e. gradually opening eyes and changing posture) This shot is a low angle shot of a person walking down the stairs. It was slightly difficult trying to capture the angle but it was manageable after a couple times. The purpose behind this shot is to distort size, making the viewer seem smaller than the subject swiftly moving down the stairs, and the subject appears to be moving quicker than they actually are due to the low angle. This is a medium-full shot of a person sitting on a bench. This was relatively easy, as the only obstruction was the glare from the sky.
